Title: Help with Crystal Pattern
Post by: petet63 on December 07, 2011, 01:39:53 PM
I have tried to post this earlier but it disappeared. I have picked up these two Sundae dishes (Please correct me if they are not) They have a beautiful tone which is one reason I buy Crystal as sadly, I love that sound  :-\.  They are just over 12cm high and 11.5cm across the bowl. Does anyone recognize the pattern. I know its a stretch to get a pattern pinned down but you never know :) Thanks. Pete

Nothing sad about flicking or pinging your glass  -  a lot of us do the same and, as you say, the sound is wonderful - just don't flick too hard ;D      These have a modern look to me, and unless someone recognizes this particular design, then you may never know the the maker or pattern name.             You don't give your location, which may be a hindrance to help, but the shape of these certainly entitles them to be called sundae glasses, although the foot does seem a tad smaller than usual, perhaps.    I can only suggest you try the one of the replacement glass suppliers (on the internet) - it's possible you might stumble on the pattern. :)         I take it you have looked very carefully all over these for some backstamp or mark  - sometimes they can be very difficult to see. :)

I'm happy to know I'm not the only pinger :D. I have checked all over both pieces with no luck. If I made glass I would always mark it with pride. I will try an email to the replacement website and see how it goes. The foot does seem small but I can't see what else they could be.. Posh finger bowls or large  babycham glasses ;D. I live in the NE of England. Not the richest hunting ground for glass but I enjoy my collecting/selling hobby. Thanks for the advice. Pete

I wouldn't say it was necessary to send emails to those suppliers  -  they usually have their own web sites, and you can look at images of the various designs/patterns they have in stock simply on your screen.     Best of luck in your search.         We look forward to seeing your next interesting find.  :)
