I want to sell these on Ebay, but haven't any idea who made them:

Modern Chinese is most likely.

:D:D:D
Seconded!
I was "taken in" by exactly these pieces when I first got interested in glass, I'd read about "Graal", but never seen it. When I saw these in an antique shop, quite cheap, I reckoned it was worth getting them, just in case. Having found out what they were, I sold them in Oxfam for nearly what I paid. They're still decorative, I just don't like flowery stuff.
-
I do like flowery stuff, as you know!
I'd agree, modern Chinese. I particularly like the second one! Let me know when you're listing them, Simone
-
Simone, is the decoration on the surface of the glass or inside it, please?
-
:D:D:D
If it's like mine were, the decoration is inside the glass, which is why I thought it might be Graal.

It's inside the glass, like lampworked paperweights and also like my Mayauel Ward. Does it make a difference?
Oh dear.... I had to show my ignorance, but what's Graal?

See here Simone http://www.glassmessages.com/index.php/topic,1025.0.html and for the BEST of SCOTTISH Graal http://www.ysartglass.com/Frank/LindeanMill.htm

Thanks Simone, no difference, I was just curious to know how they are made, as I've not seen these before. :)

Hi Simone,
I have just been looking through a file I had saved off the internet, whilst I was researching some of my bud vases. I have just come across your two vases on those pages! Made by the Zibo Zhaohai Light Industrial Products Ltd, in China. Their website page doesn't show them currently, but there was also a yellow flower and a blue flower like your purple one.
I saw them on the internet August 2005, so that will hopefully date them for future reference.

Well they may have been on there before that of course. :? I found them still on the web page in August. :)

I contacted these people a while back in my researches on Chinese paperweights, to ask if there was any information available about who made their various glass items. I got a standard reply (in fairly poor English - but hey, it was better than my Chinese, so who am I to comment?!  ) saying something like, "We make many wonderful glass, popular all over world, " etc., etc., all telling me nothing :? :(

Write to the embassy in London... cultural attache or press office. Ask them about glass training centres in China and write to them, you are more likely to get an english speaker that way. It would also be worthwhile to get a short note translated by your friendly local takeaway and send both languages.

Yes, I did the same. I sent them a picture of the vases in question asking if they had made them. Their reply was; yes they could make them for me or to any other design I wanted! They now send me regular emails with their latest products, so maybe it wasn't too much of a wasted effort. :? :D
