Title: Pittorico (Oriente) copy?
Post by: a.mar.illo on December 11, 2011, 08:51:30 AM
Hi, I got this vase for my birthday in September and didn't pay too much attention to it until I found out a little more about the Pittorico (and the Oriente) series by Dino Martens for Aureliano Toso. This isn't an authentic Pittorico vase I'm aware... But who did this obviously "inspired by..." vase, or can we bury it into the "sorry, but the Chinese produced these in masses..." grave???
Any help, ideas really appreciated:)

I definitely don't think it's a Dino Martens. The design is white inside the vase. It should have the design inside & out. Also, the base is different.

If it were mine I might be searching for Czechoslovakian glass possibly  :-\

Although is the rim fire polished? In which case maybe French. But probably Czech then French as first thoughts.
