A large uranium bulb vase far to be for a hyacinth unless its for several small ones . I have not seen anything quite like it before. It came into a local antique shop in mixed boxed so amazing its still 100% perfect as it seems to be quite delicate.
Maybe it was made for a larger bulb like an amarillis (amaryllis). The glass is translucent and looks like it has a lustre finish.
Weight 456 gm diameter 7.5" / 17cm , height 5.5" / 14cm
Glows extremely brightly as can be seen in picture

Apparently bulb vases weren't actually made for amaryllises (so Patricia says), so maybe for something else

I have seen a pink iridescent version of this vase and I do not actuaLly believe it would be possible to press it into use for hyacinths - but then, stranger things have happened....

Although the design does look like made for a bulb or bulbs I agree with Ivo that it does not look practical to use for hyacinths , maybe just decorative or as Christine said maybe something else
Thanks Roy

Got one, tried it with hyacinths and it did not work, the openings are far too small and roots do not grow at an angle.
Which doesn't always mean that it was not supposed to be designed as such.
At times it would be nice if designers and glassblowers would try out what they create there where bulb vases are concerned.
May be it could be filled with spagnum (moss), which was an old time favourite, plant small bulbs on the bottom (say like daffodils) and have them grow through the 'holes' for support? That's just me fantasising though.
I use it for posies and bouquets now, the flowers arrange themselves nicely to the shape.
