Greetings,
Not even sure if this little vase would be categorized as such but is interesting none the less.
It stands at 2 inches or just shy of 5 mm's. Lots of detail for such a tiny bulbous thingy.
Haven't a clue as to it's origins or if in fact it's even old.
Any input would be appreciated.

I believe second half of the 20th century they often came with twisted flame stopper loose fit -IE- thin peg with flange to stop it falling in, but they often fell out and broke or went missing . Like yours . :usd: jp

I had an identical one using red Moretti canes. Can't find a chart of the canes online... but I'd presume yours are also Moretti.
But that's just the canes... never found out who made the actual vase (or stopper-less bottle).

Thanks jp and Pinkspoons.
I believe I know the scent bottles you're speaking of.
So at the very least, it's safe to assume this is Murano?

There was a big discussion on the board a few years back about items using Moretti canes - lots were used in small Murano glassworks, but a lot were also shipped out to other countries (i.e. China). Indeed, I think they can even be bought on eBay.
But I'd say that there's a good chance it's Italian - it's where I bought mine from.

I would also go for Italian as i have had a few as long as 20 years , they come in various sizes mostly small , some probably made by Moretti , i have quite a lot of signed Moretti pieces and with various labels . Love all Carlos items .
