Title: Alfred Capredoni Diving Seal in ice floe
Post by: jakgene on January 12, 2012, 10:41:30 AM
Just received this rather amazing piece, the last of my pre Christmas buying spree .

It is Alfred Capredoni for Dartington Crystal - I have never bought one before because I haven't seen one like this before.

It stands 14 cm or  5 1/2 inches tall, and 11 cm or 4 1/4 inches wide. It weighs approx 850 grammes or almost 2 pounds in weight.

I have only ever seen the smaller more oval shaped pieces previously. Does anyone know if this was a different range? or or is it just an odd one .

it is labeled Dartington and signed A Capredoni, then a C in a circle and 4mm - does that perhaps date it to 1996?

It is a beautiful subject, and a beautifully executed piece.

The C in the circle is the standard symbol for copyright protected.

I have a very nice arrangement with my 3 sisters.(all overseas)  We each buy ourselves three presents - one from each sister! That way we all get presents we like - or we can combine and get one big one if we like - and we don't pay postage. :hiclp:   The only rule is you have to buy something and tell the others what you chose. No just sticking the cash in the housekeeping instead!

Works for us!  We've been doing it for years!  :ru:

I do buy gifts for a few others though ! even if they often get glass from me  LOL

LOL...i always buy xmas presents for myself and no-one else... :t:

Bought myself 3 SVdA pieces at some really good prices. I always find bargains at that time of year, people are to busy buying 'crap' for other people that I can snap up some good pieces at cheaper prices.  ;D
