Presumed this was Walsh but after looking at my book the clear base on mine is not to be found in the pictures,8 inches high, polished pontil mark, not uv reactive,do I need new glasses? ::) ;D
-
I don't know about the spectacles, Keith, ;D
but you're right in thinking Walsh Pompeian is not cased.
-
:grrr:,looks like a trip to spec-savers :thud: ::)

Sue — too generalised. Pink Pompeian was always cased (flint on ruby).

Keith — It's Specsavers. I collected my new specs (two pairs) from them last week and I'm delighted. In my case around 40%–45% cheaper than Boots — and a big choice with reverse sprung hinges — and a big choice of conventional shapes (as opposed to the trendy wide screen / letterbox shape being pushed in Boots) — and great staff you could have a laugh with.

apologies, Bernard. I didn't even know pink pompeian existed. :-X what a ghastly thought.
I never bother wasting precious energy even focussing on anything pink - with or without glasses of any description.
I know only of green and yellow and I think they're lovely - especially when they glow.
Is the casing great thick stuff like this vase in question?
-
Thanks, Sue — I needed a good laugh! :24: :24: :24:

But does it glow? If it does, I love it! ;)
-
Thanks all,for the glass and optical info',I did consider Arculus & Co but that 's not cased :pb: any other ideas?
-
there is also a purple 'Pompeian - and that doesn't glow either ;D
-
No I don't think the blue glows; at least I hope not because I sold that one!

Keith et al — See vintage (2004) topic 3 ID's : Walsh Walsh Pompeian (http://www.glassmessages.com/index.php/topic,167.0.html) for other possibilities and images of less usual Pompeian colours.
Apologies for those dreadful images — but they were some of my very earliest! :ooh:
Grateful thanks to our Moderators for creating that topic from what remained of three others.
