believe this is bohemian would love to know who by. the feet seem to be ground flat is this to hide damage or so the vase stands square. stands just over 10cm high7 cm across. colour is really nice would you call it cranberry and amber

I would say English was more likely. There is usually some grinding on the feet but those look overground, i.e., repaired IMHO

anouther one i got wrong :thud: any idea were i should try and look. do you think its victorian. sometimes i cant see the wood for the trees.

If you can't see the wood for the trees, then get a copy of Mervyn Gulliver's 'Victorian Decorative Glass' - British Designs 1850 - 1914....which has the potential to help with Victorian glass made in this style - and, of course, acres of other decorative Victorian glass :)
Having said that, I've just looked through the book and unable to see anything with this type of surface decoration. I'm assuming it's a mould effect - although unsure whether it's copying the effect of machine threading, deliberately, or not. Looked at quickly machine threading is the impression you get, but I'm fairly sure it's not. How do you think the effect is produced Stew??
Feet like this do suffer massively from contact problems, and I think you'd be hard pressed to see a genuine piece devoid of any fleabites or chips - sometimes with quite substantial loss, and if yours is perfect then you are extremely lucky. What in fact is the extent of wear on the feet?
I take it there is definitely no glow from the amber looking decoration.

not sure how it was made. the vertical ribs are on the inside not sure how that would have been done the outside horizontal ribs are a spiral like a screw thread. if it was anything else but glass i would have said the outside was done on a lathe but you can feel the horizontal ribs on the inside as well. the base is applied after. it has a couple of issues flea bites part of one of the leafs on the side is missing and some sharp bits on the feet but it sits square and the feet are ground smooth. it does not glow. the colours really work well together would you call it cranberry.

It's blown into a ribbed mould, expanded into a smooth mould, then machine threaded and finally the trim is added. If, as it appears , it shades from amber to red, then it's amberina. It might be Webb or Richardson but...
Gulliver is lovely but I never think he helps much.
