This wine glass is clearly in the facon-de-Venise style, but would I be right in thinking it is Muranese made sometime between 1880 and 1920? It was a wonderfully crafted little item (4 inches high) and will go well with my other latticinio glass items. It'd love to know more about it, if there is anything to tell.
Thanks for your help,
Simon

Lovey item - and quite well made. I would think Venice or France, last quarter 19th ct. - but as it seems to be quite heavy, France would be more likely. It might well be Saint Louis, or Sèvres, or Zoude or Chênée....
It is not Facon-de-Venise which is a term which refers to the Venetian style of glassmaking as practiced outside Venice.

Ivo, thanks for the information and correcting my poor knowledge of glass terminology! :spls:
The glass seems quite fine, and not a noticably heavy glass. It weighs 84 grams.
A couple of other observations: The bowl and foot aren't particularly round. The pontil mark on the base is unpolished.
Thanks again, and best wishes!
Simon
