Title: Wanted: C Richardson maker of paperweights in 1994
Post by: ahremck on January 25, 2012, 12:55:11 AM
I have confirmed (directly) that it can not be Cathy Richardson(   ) or her son Colin Richardson - both of whom make wonderful items.  I have put this here on the off chance someone knows of a C. Richardson from other sources.  The wt was bought from Prescott, Arizona off Ebay.

The pwt has a clear core cased in thick blue galss with white frit embedded.  I estimate that the deepest sandblasting goes in c. 2mms and does not reach the clear core - which is visible with a strong light via the pontil mark on the base.  There are 4 sandblasted birds - hand done as they are not quite identical.  Clearly scratch marked "C Richardson 1994".

BUMP!  :)

I tried this in the glass section first but now hope the paperweight experts are more knowledgeable.

I seriously considered that Ray, but decided that most likely it is not, since if you read the Richardson site it is clearly much too early(as I confirmed directly).  Even if it is I would like people's ideas as to possible makers.

I got an unexpected email from Cathy Richardson.  She had Crystalforge create her some blanks back in 1994.  She did not make the weights but did sandblast them back then.  So it is one of hers after all.
