Title: Red Cased Tumblers

I bought these today at an antique store.  The seller thinks they're from the 1960s.  Any clues about origin, maker and age?  An interesting note, they are gold colored at the rim (hopefully visible in close up).  Is this a fancy "double casing" technique, or some kind of halo effect?

The yellow isn't a fancy casing, it happens sometimes with red glass...I have the same yellow 'separating' out on some Whitefriars glass at the rim.

I do like your tumblers, they look kind of Carlo Moretti-ish to me.  Perhaps you could give the size and a photo of the base?  Someone might be able to assist you better than I can.  :)

Thanks for the info.  They're 5 3/4" tall (16 cm) and pretty substantial (heavy).  They are very impractical.  Each time you lift them, they leave finger prints, unless you've just washed your hands.

Hi Horochar,
Im not sure if these are Italian at all, but I do remember seeing something similar a few years back, believe from a US company. I'm unsure of the name, but the mist-like texture on the outside was the same, and they were different colors. The ones I saw were yellow and others orange. I havent seen any since, but thought I would mention it.

They were vintage, but also frosted like yours.
