Title: Jack in the pulpit, possibly Kralik ??
Post by: Andy on January 31, 2012, 12:34:42 PM
Found this today, lovely JIP Vase. Im thinking the decor is Kralik, but cant find an exact match on Craigs or other sites yet.
Any ideas??

Cheers Andy

You got pet mallards, Andy? Get many duck eggs for breakfast?

The colour looks like some Kralik pieces, but the patterning I don't recognise and I've yet to see a 'j.i.p.' by Kralik but who knows? ;D

On Craigs lovely site, there is a 'punched' shape which has a very similar purple edging to it, and its
opalescent criss cross shape is just like the harlequin opalescent, except without the harlequin !

I wonder what Craig thinks?? It feels right.
There are a few bits of ash in the glass, and a small rough (not too rough ) pontil mark.

Not pet mallards Kev, wild ones, i back onto a lake. They are tame, but a pain, because they make a mess and sit under
the bird feeders all day. 3 regular visitors, female and 2 males , but if i feed them , i get another 10 ! So i
dont feed them . They come up to the house every winter, then i dont see them for months, and then, in the Autumn,
they must remember where the food is, and come back up the garden. Regular as clockwork.

Cheers
Andy

m,
I think thats a good possibility, i'm a bit lazy sometimes and forget there are lots of other possibilities  :-[

I found a nice Rindskopf JIP here,

http://sites.google.com/site/loetzglass/rindskopf

I am 100% happy that its the right Era , and Bohemian in origin

That will do me for this one.
Cheers

also a vase id'd as Rindskopf here 6717   http://www.great-glass.co.uk/library/lib1c.htm  -
It is opalescent with a purple rim.  The decor isn't the same as yours and neither is the purple rim I don't think, but still a likeness, so a possible.

Nice fish.
This is the biggest ive had from my lake. Unfortunately, i think many have disappeared in the last few years,
poached and sadly eaten by some of our European friends.
I havent fished much for a few years, planning to do more, but ive only just noticed the fallen tree in the earlier
picture, which makes it unfishable, need to get someone in with a block and tackle tom pull it out and cut it up!
More expense, will have to sell more glass !!

Carp weighed 39 pounds.
Andy

ps m, thanks again.

Thats a really good one Andy. All mine are from a small shallow river just 1 1/2 miles from me & are caught in only 3-4 feet of water. Most in pic are around 23-27 lbs. except the large silver european & she weighed 32 1/2.  I just take a pic & drive them back less than 5 minutes away & release them. Fun to catch. Ken
