Title: Yellow wavy edged bowl
Post by: petet63 on February 06, 2012, 02:22:28 PM
Hiya, I am looking for a maker on this piece of glass. It has stood on my windowsill with a Buddha statue in for a while but its time to list it. I see these in lots of colours and variations but as usual there seems to be a lot of companies doing similar. A point in the right direction would be great. It is18cm wide and 7cm high with bubbles in it. You can see it better in the pictures. Thanks.

No Italian doesn't always mean Murano, but most (NOT ALL) Italian hot-worked items are from Murano and most machine made items are from elsewhere in Italy. "Murano, made in Italy" often means not made in Murano but elsewhere in Italy. The phrase "Made in Murano", is the one to look for on labels, n but even then is no guarantee.

Your bowl is almost certainly made in Murano

The companies mentioned are most likely located on Murano.
Murano is an island not a company or glasshouse.
Note: Some Murano trained glassmasters emigrated to other countries. Some of them produced similar work: Chalet, ICET
