I bought this a few weeks ago & have tried to find out who made it to no avail?? Does Anybody have any ideas of maker?? it stands 12" high & is beautifully made!
-
It does look well made, but the colours look all wrong to me. Is there any wear on the base?
-
Hello
Yes there is a fair amount of wear!! its certainly been around for a while, commensurate with other vases i have from the 60's & 70's....or its had a hard life?
What do you mean by the colours not being right? they certainly are unusual! Thanks for your response though!

To me it looks like modern Chinese or Polish, but I could be wrong

to me, those colours, but particularly the blue and green ribbons, look modern. I can't recall seeing that shape with that design anywhere either. There's a lot of modern Chinese, well made, glass around these days, much of it 12" high. It's not impossible that someone has sanded down the base of your vase to make it look aged. just an opinion though. :-\

A base shot might help

Hello Guys!
Ive been buying Scandinavian glass for 20 years...Such as Orrefors, Kost Boda, Stromberg etc!! normally from 1950's to 1960's! & there is a definite state of wear on the bases that has built up over the age of the vases. I have also come across newer vases that have been falsely aged & i think you can def tell that they are wrong?! With this glass it def has that feel of age?? Also why would someone age a vase that doesn't replicate an older vase design of a higher value? I dont know??? (these are purely my own opinions from my limited experience, so maybe completely wrong??? lol)
I bought it very inexpensively & a close friend is buying it from me. I just wanted to be able to give him an idea of its origins? Originally i was thinking it was from an obscure maker/country?
Anyway....i appreciate your input. :smg:

A base shot might still help with origin
