Title: twin handled twin lipped jug
Post by: david31162 on February 15, 2012, 11:30:19 PM
Can anyone help with this please, date, origin (English /Irish)? Oh and is there a name for such a two handled/spouted vessel ?
I thought it early C19th and was really pleased to buy this at an auction. However,I was so disappointed when I found two additional (porter inflicted) chips on some really expensive complete sets of glasses.
Thank you.
David

I'm no expert on this,or very little else :pb: but it might be a wine glass rinser,I've seen something similar, somewhere ::) ;D ;D

Thanks Keith, it is possible I suppose. I've seen hundreds of rinsers but none with handles. If it were silver or ceramic it would be a twin handled sauce boat. However, I've not seen any of those in glass.
