Small bird in gold and brown mottled glass with iridized hues of blue - marked to base Oiva Toikka Nuutajarvi Notsjo.
Just bought and was very expensive ::) any idea of date as seller never stated.

I did have a little book on his birds but I seem to have lost it. :cry:
A friend also has a copy, I should be able to get hold of it in about a week if no one else can help, I don't remember it having much info though, just names and pretty pictures....

Thanks Rosie - I can't see my bird there - it's small 8cm long - I got a shock when I got it as I paid a fair wack, in many respects its the most expensive yet smallest piece I now own.

There are hundreds of different birds by Toikka.
I think many or most of this small 5cm tall? bird design despite the colour are called "HippiƤinen". I haven't seen that colourway but still: there are lots.
If it's rare and genuine it is expensive.
