An unusual one this for me it seems to throw together many ideas from various countries of glass production but doesnt give away its origins to me anyway, The bowl sits on three clear formed feet very similar to the type found on vicotrian cranberry glass jugs etc... the spot where the pontil rod was taken away on the base has been covered over with a blob formed into a berry??next to this is an transfer acid patent oblong mark??
The bowl is strange any ideas of its date or its origins?? Thanks
nearly forgot 7" wide 4" tall

Maybe this is the same kind of thing... http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=150759691915#ht_500wt_969
There's a mention of a 'patent' mark on the bottom of this page so maybe yours has a US origin?

Ah ha thankyou both,The rasberry prunt and patent etched mark seem to indicate a high possibility of of a phoenix glass attribution id say 98% thats good enough for me thanks for the information interesting to see that one of the webbs family from england glass makers emigrated to the states and gave great impitus to the american art glass market i can funnily say honestly my initial feelings were american or english isnt that funny
