Title: Thanks GMB

Heres a pic of the kind of glass in a charity shop that I frequent. Pretty sure 2 are Scandinavian, (I might get them tomorrow) but too many pieces and so little cash and this is just 2 picture. Its a dilemma for me as I know so little and cant afford to buy pieces that wont sell on but GMB always come up trumps and ID most that is posted on here. Any newcomers to the board will be surprised at what is known here. Just thought I should give some respect to the knowledge of the people on here. Thanks GMB. Pete

I agree with you pete, this is an amazing forum with knowledge gathered from all of the world.
You are right about those vases, both come from Riihimäen Lasi, Finland. The first is Tamara Aladin's Tulppaani #1512 from 1971-76 and the second from the export range of about the same era.

Instead of looking for glass, look for glass books intead they're more useful.

The small vase, to the left, half out of the first pic. is Caithness.

I look for them but the North East is not known for its Reference books being donated to charity shops and as it happens the local library doesnt have them, It does sound like I'm stereo typing the NE but that's how it is up here. I cant get about much (physically) but have started to enjoy trying to find nice pieces. The Caithness that was spotted has a twin right next to it. Also saw a large Lotus bowl by Dartington but would need help getting it all home !!
