Title: ID, please - pair translucent white & pink part cased ruffled glass vases
Post by: agincourt17 on February 24, 2012, 03:06:00 PM
Any ideas, please, as to age, country of origin, possible manufacturer?

A pair of blown glass vases, of baluster shape with flared necks turned over into heavy ruffles. The body of each vase is of white translucent glass (with slightly greyish green tinge) which has an orangeish cast when viewed against the light; the glass shows no fluorescence or other colour under UV light. The neck of each vase is cased in a darkish pink (cranberry?) transparent glass. The base is polished flat, and has a slightly hollow ground-out pontil mark in the centre. 13.5cm high, 5cm foot rim diameter, maximum body diameter approx. 8.2cm.
Thanks in advance for all help.

Probably Bohemian late 19th/early 20th century. You're unlikely to find a manufacturer
