Get out a magnifying glass and search around the base (on the outside of the vase) for a mark that looks like two P's, back to back (mirror images), the mark for Peill & Putzler. This looks very like their work, and you are in the right part of Europe!

Hello Sue, thanks for your help! I would agree, does look like PP - but there is no mark on the base... ?!

Thx Kevin

It's not always marked.
Does anybody know if there are catalogues of P&P designs?

Apart from one catalogue at Pamela's that unfortunately only features drinking glasses, and one book about the company that didn't focus exclusively on their products, I've never found any P&P catalogues - unfortunately.

I think the vase looks German.

Given the fact that there were many German glashuette that produced vases of similar design, I wouldn't put P&P on it without an etchmark. Only very few of them come with a paper label only (in my collection of 30+ only 3 were un-etched). There are plenty of alternatives: Nachtmann, Warmensteinach, WMF, Hirschberg, etc. Some that I really thought were German turned out to be Scandinavian or Brittish...
