Title: help identify etched mark please - M mark on cut crystal vase
Post by: flying free on March 03, 2012, 03:38:11 PM: I've searched and searched for this, I'm sure I've seen it somewhere before, but I just have not been able to find it anywhere - searching M's and W's although I think it is an M.
Help needed please. Bought in the UK so possibly a UK maker? possibly more contemporary as the vase is quite 'modern'.
It's quite big at 16.8cm wide (6 5/8") by 17.2 cm high (6 6/8")
and weighs 2.3kg

Post by: scavo on March 03, 2012, 03:42:46 PM: I saw something in a charity shop with the same mark last week. I left it because the design looked a bit too 'now' for me. The actual monogram looks quite modern too.

Maybe I'll be kicking myself after a few others have posted?

PS Wasn't it decided it was a stylised N for Nachtmann?????

I'm not entirely sure it is meant to be read from the other way up (the discussion on the link Rosie gave) but I'll have a good look round now and see if I can match it.
