Title: Unusual Uranium Glass Jug With Black Pedestal Foot w/Polished Pontil - ID Help??
Post by: charliepedro on March 07, 2012, 02:30:42 AM
Hi guys,

Does anyone have any clue as to the origin of this unusual jug? The black pedestal is very similar to those used in certain pieces of kralik 'tango' glass and also a few Webb pieces I've seen. The jug weighs 1300gr and measures approx. 6 x 6 x 9''. Any help will be greatly appreciated.

Cheers, Charlene

Black feet are a design feature found in a lot of glass from the 1930s through the 1950s and there are many manufacturers who used this. Leerdam / Copier pioneered this I believe - soon copied by Kristalunie / Maastricht. But I have also seen glass from Belgium, from Germany and from France with the same characteristic.
