Title: Planter stamped EDD

Saw a large clear pressed glass planter today with birds on it, quite old but not particularly interesting, too large and with a little damage, so I didn't buy it. It did, however, have EDD stamped on the bottom in large capital letters. Anyone got any idea who EDD is/was? Can't Google anything useful and can't see anything in Ivo's book
