Hi :waving:
I bought this a couple months ago and only getting to posting it now. Could this be European (or Czech) Glass? It is:
~ 14.5 inches long
~ 6.5 inches widest point
~ 3 inches Tallest point
~ Weight is 2.14 pounds
~ polished base with wear, and chafed edges.
We call Europe here the 'Old Country' with our European roots. This bowl reminds me some of these here Czech Color (http://www.glassmessages.com/index.php/topic,41269.msg228268.html#msg228268), and this other bowl here......
.............((((( whoops, I tried to find an old past post of mine in Search of a green/olive colored oblong bowl with kinda the same type of base........but I can not find my own old post using the NEW search bar here)))))). I get other people post that I posted in, and then my post for this item never even came up. I used tag words like *green, olive, shallow, oblong* but never found my old post about that one. Anyone this blue oblong bowl KINDA reminds me of it too....if I could find it >:( I give up trying to find that post of mine.....
Thanks :)

Rose could this be Walther, it looks very similar to a bowl I posted a while ago. Is it blue with some pink on it? I'll see if I can find my thread so you can compare.

uncanny, I'm just about to up load what looks like the same bowl, different colour way.
-
for comparison. I'd love to know too. Mine is showing signs of ware on the base. Quite a few bubbles in the glass.
-
mm, no mine is different (my memory is getting worse ;D) - link here

Ahhhhhhhh there.....
Now I have found the post I had posted about another Oblong shallow glass I had posted a while ago.
Anyways -- This blue one here posted, and this one here:
http://www.glassmessages.com/index.php/topic,18451.msg106719.html#msg106719
They kinda seem similar to me as to style made.....and the bases ??
I see no *pink* in my blue bowl I posted here.
Nor do I think either the blue one (or the Green one from OLD post) are Chalet, IMHO -- but not sure for either. Does anyone else think these 2 oblong bowls of mine have some *similarities* ? Thanks

* Polite bump....for the Blue shallow bowl.
...just wondering

I don't suppose these could be Lux Glass Austria could they?

I don't think so, m (at least that light blue colour would not be typical for Lux Glass).

Thanks for the leads......the *plot* thickens.... ;D
It is a Big Bowl....as long in Shape. The bottom does show wear and has an edge to it...Hope you can see it. What is that called Chafed or something...
??
-
chamfered :) or maybe bevel edged or bevelled
I just came across a Lux bowl that reminded me of your bowl but I think Rocco is probably right on the colours they used....sorry, not much of a lead really :-[

Another name I found for these tiny bevels on the edges of a piece, in the pdf file of London Museum glass terms Christine kindly posted here, is an "arris".

m, I woudn't say Lux glass can be ruled out for certain -> Link to a vaguely similar bowl in a typical colourway (http://www.willhaben.at/iad/viewimage?adId=41420905)
It is just that I haven't come across a piece in this colour so far (and I have seen around hundred pieces from Lux during the last months)
Rarely there is a Lux Glass label on an unexpected item, but usually there is not much variety in colour and shape...
