Decanter and Vase cleaning balls - copper or stainless - which are best?

Have you tried them? Are there any issues?

What are you trying to remove? They can work for dirt and grime but will do little for actual water staining.

Given the choice I would go with copper - they should be a little softer and perhaps less likely to scratch.

I have 2 decanters that have what I can only describe as what looks like dried on beer head remains in places I cannot access with a bottle brush. Both are round not squared off. I tried to clean them with warm water and soap, then bicarbonate of soda solution. Nothing. I was thinking of white vinegar but they would stink for ages after and could possibly taint any future alcohol they were used for.
