 Could it be Portuguese or Czech,  second  half 20th  century?

 I don't have a clue.

Hi Marc.

I think it is from the Czech Republic, second half 20th Century - as you suggest. It may be a Beranek Glassworks Skrdlovice product - they still make paperweights, and I think their are around 50 designs on their website (can't find the website I am familiar with at present though).

I think this is from Portugal circa 1970.
