Title: Can anyone tell me about this figural lidded pot?

I've had this piece almost 40 years and know nothing about it.   Can anyone tell me anything?  Thanks much!

Hi & welcome to the board!

Your piece looks to be a powder bowl or trinket pot - possibly part of a dressing table set. Date wise I'd be guessing 1930s-50s. I don't know the maker, but interestingly the figure on the lid looks to have been modelled after Jobling's 11900 'Dancing Girl & Block'. That said, I don't believe your piece is by Jobling.

Whereabouts in the world are you? I'm sure I've seen something similar offered for sale in New Zealand. That might suggest an antipodean origin...

Hello Deadwoodgal,
Reading from  "Bedroom and Bathroom Glassware of the Depression Years by Margret and Ken Whitmyer" I would hazard a guess at this powder jar being called "Lillian III".
According to page 28 the original "Lillian" powder jar was made by Hazel Atlas Glass Company and would have been marked with a "HA".
Lillian II through to VII have the same finial (Lillian) but different shape bowls and lids.

Cheers
