Post by: ardy on April 25, 2012, 05:19:44 AM
hi all

A friend of mine has just bought this and is looking to ID it. I am pretty sure it is not Murano but I have seen similar on ebay.

Size 160mm (6 1/2") high
         85 mm (3 1/2") wide

Weight 1.3kg (3lbs)

Seen a few of these around, came across one today with a 'Fifth Avenue Crystal' label. The example I saw had a long dropper type stopper although almost certainly produced by the same firm.

I gather Fifth Avenue is a supplier/brand rather than a glass producer.

Couple of pictures attached for reference....

That's very interesting, Greg!
I have seen a few odd things similar to this around, some features look good and then bits don't look or feel quite right. They've been amber, green and blue though.
I don't know how this relates to the piece here, but I think you've solved my mystery. Thank-you! :)

Hi Sue,

I know exactly what you mean, the quality seems reasonable, although there's always one aspect that just doesn't feel right.

The one I saw today had the same top to the stopper as the one that started this thread, just a longer dropper. The bottle also had the same facet cut sides.

Here's a selection.............. :)

And there they were, the ones I've seen, in green, amber and blue.
Thanks, Greg. ;D
