The base with that small flat ring and the slight indentation make me suspect I have a proper Whitefriars knobby - if so can I have a catalog number and the colour name please.
If, on the other hand, you recognise it as Czech, I would like a maker, designer and era please.
Thanks in anticipation, Ross

I do not think it is Whitefriars, but what is the height. Certainly similar but even I have been fooled by some of the Czech ones!

I don't think it is Czech either...

It is 8" = 20cms tall and about 4" = 10cms at the widest point.

Hi Ross is the top really as dark as it looks on the picture ?

The rim finish is very different from the Whitefriars ones, also the height does not conform with any Whitefriars pattern in a similar shape. You can see an example of a W/F Aubergine one on my knobbly blog here

I just had a look at a contribution Ross made to the themed thread that featured this vase, the one next to it in the themed thread is certainly Skrdlovice. A post of pictures of it could find a match for specific designer and year of design. This one though does not look particularly Czech to me, I know Magnor did some hot worked designs similar to this but did not have a concave pontil mark as I recall. There are other possible Scandinavian options too but it is not my area really... still quite a nice piece...

Thank you all for the information you are so generous in giving.
John - yes it does get quite intense at the top. there is a gradation from bottom to top. [See photo below]
Emmi - Thanks for the link. I see what you mean. I realised the size was a problem myself.
Robert - I thought the small pale blue vase was likely to be Skrdlovice, but I will post photos and have that confirmed.
I have attached 2 photos of the "knobs" which seem very distinctive to me, with those lumps in the middle. All have a similar structure and look to be in a distinct pattern around the vase. I am wondering if that will help people in identifying the maker.
KLICK! I wonder if it is a quality Japanese piece by Kamei or Hineri. They use clear glass outers with set patterns and my Hineri vase rests on a narrow base rim rather like this vase has.
