evening :-)
just looking for a second opinion really, out of my comfort zone as they say...... :-\
not that happy with the shape / pattern, it is cased but am suspecting a chinese 'snowflake special' in the style of...... lol
appreciate any input, it's nice to bounce ideas around with other peeps :-*
cheers!

I'd say yes to the Chinese option, although most of the ones I saw (when I was buying coloured glass before paperweights became my focus) had the coloured parts flowing under the base.
I'll put some photos up of my items soon for comparison.

Photos below.
Now that I look at mine again, the swirls seem to be more "generalised" rather than discrete elements. The swirls on the blue and white "lugged" vases do not continue to the base.
These type of vases have been discussed before and I think the general consensus was in favour of Chinese. But when I bought my examples (about 20 years ago) dealers were often labelling them up as "Italian c1970s".

My memory had a sudden surge of activity ... so I looked through the China & Taiwan forum ... found something I added back in 2010 to one of the threads:
A search of the Board for "snowflake" will show various older threads mentioning Chinese items. For example, for design style / decorative similarities, see:

Also search for Dalian, as that may well be the company marketing items as "snowflake". Can anyone confirm if that has been confirmed?

thank you for taking the time to reply and add all the additional info Keith, much appreciated.
although I have not been able to match it exactly your comments do reinforce my initial thoughts
cheers!

still not too sure where I stand on adding links so apologies if this has to be taken off and I'm sure you are all familiar with this site but following on from Keith's post I looked for Dalian - it was an eye opener to me....eg: not even bothering to call it 'murano style' anymore . YIKES!! :o

The link is fine. The Alibaba site was also referred to in another past message about Dalian / Snowflake.
[p.s. I am not keith! :)]

oh Kevin, I am so sorry.
I have no excuse other than my eyes are practically bleeding and my brain needs a reboot from all the googling I've been doing
