There is an item on Ebay listed as a rare Pirelli owl. My only reference for Pirelli is the Glass Zoo and it's not shown there. Does anyone have enough knowledge of Pirelli pieces to say yae or nae to this one? (This seller lists a lot of lampwork figures and only describes them as Pirelli when they are, I think.)

The reason I ask is that some time ago I bought this very similar piece, except the owl is standing on a branch eying a tiny wee mouse on a lower down branch. When I bought it I did think it might be Pirelli, but had no way of confirming (no label). Thanks!

I think it could be, Nancy!
I believe one of the distinctive features of Pirelli is the eyes - and how they're in coloured layers.
Your owl is certainly by the same maker - but it's better than the one listed, isn't it? 8) 8) 8)

Hey Sue. One of the multifarious benefits of being a GMB member is learning how to recognise glass stuff! Thus!.. a year or so ago I would never have dreamed of having cute little glass figures in my house. I can't remember now how I got interested in Pirelli, but I have a wee collection now! I bought my owl and mouse with the thought that it might be Pirelli - eye colours in particular. Isn't the wee mouse just beautiful! I think I'll email the seller and ask about their Pirelli attribution. X

Yup, the wee mouse is really cute - it's just a lovely group. ;D

Again, sorry this is years too late! It's a lovely little figure, but not Pirelli.

Thank you Angela. A bit disapponting but good to know. I'm very fond of it though and think the detail is beautifully done.
