Hoping to try and find out a little bit more info on this multi coloured Czech vase.
The vase is made up of an inner red layer of glass, which has then been cased in clear glass and then appears to have been rolled in a variety of small multicoloured glass chips, which gives a slight textured feel.
Reasonably light in weight at 176 grams.
Measures 17cm tall.
Rim diameter, approximately 4.6 cm wide.
Base diameter just over 6cm wide.
I had wondered if it was perhaps Kralik or Welz, although I can't seem to find an exact match on Craig's site in terms of the decoration. Finally, would this be best classed / described as 'Spatter' glass..?
Many thanks
Greg

It reminds me of the decors on these shades - I think it might be Ruckl possibly.

I think it may be quite difficult to pin this one down. I would not refer to as as spatter myself... It really looks more like the piece was rolled in multi-colored frit.... Great piece....

Thanks for both taking a look, much appreciated.
I had a look into Ruckl although couldn't find any similar vases with this exact decor. As mentioned this may well be a tricky one to pinpoint and quite possibly by one of the lesser known companies.

Definitely not "spatter glass" which is formed with thin "blobs" of colour of varying size, often with space between the "blobs" and always (?) set smoothly on the main surface and usually cased in clear.
The third pic showing the top of the vase seems to show a distinct hollow between the orange inner and the "textured" outer. Is that right? If so, why, and how, would that be done? Surely it can't be just for dust collection? :)

Many of these pieces have an internal color layer, a clear casing ver the color, and a decor applied to the exterior of te clear.... I think the pic jut makes it look like a space, but it is lily just a layer of clear and the angle of the image....

Thanks both.
As Craig mentioned, i think the picture of the rim and casing creates a little bit of an optical illusion, there's no gap/hollow between the two layers or the applied frit to the exterior.

It looks awfully like contemporary Chinese stuff I've seen in Heart Foundation shops - new goods. Last year or the year before.....

Thanks for taking a look Sue.
I'm fairly confident its not contemporary, looking at it close up, it clearly has some age to it. I can see what you mean about the colours being somewhat reminiscent of some Chinese glass, however, I still think its origins are most likely to be Czech/ Bohemian.
In terms of date I was originally thinking it may have been produced around the 30s/40s..? I would be interested to see what Craig's views are in terms of age and likely country/area of origin.....

Apologies for all of the typos in the text of mine above..... I was on my laptop and I hate that keyboard...... If I do not proof read everything then it typically comes out looking like that...... not a real soft touch on the keys......
I would think 20's / 30's Czech glass...... I would be quite shocked if it were not....... Without handling it it I can not be 100% sure, but there would have to be something quite significant I do not see in the image to lead me to think otherwise....
