Hello - Can anyone identify this unusual vase? It's a lovely shade of blue with green and has a 'squashed' appearance. Approx 10cms tall. Rather heavy. Thanks :)

Mdina. 1970s.

Missing a stopper - but many are. When pieces were sold, stoppers were an optional extra, quite apart from some which must have gone astray.
Nice wee lumps. ;D

I have exactly the same one. ;D

;D
It will be slightly different, Elizabeth (hello and welcome!) - they're all hand-made, so the strapping will be the "same but different" - and there will be different colours in different places. Each individual piece is unique.
You may be able to pick up a single stopper - they do appear on ebay. They were not made to fit perfectly - they tend to just sort of sit on top of the flange. The correct colour would be a teal-blue core, with some yellow bits, cased in clear.

I am sorry, you are absolutely right.
What I meant was the shape, mine has more of a greenish/blueish hue.
:)

Eeeek! No apologies needed :o .....
I was simply hoping to point this out to you in case you hadn't already known. :)

Many thanks - you folks are awesome :)

A pic of one with a stopper.

Methinks I'll hunt for a stopper! I'm selling off some of my glass (running out of space...) but can't bear to part with the blue pieces!!! :-*
