I need an ID on the maker of this vase if possible. There is only the remnants of a signature left on it and I cant get a picture of it. It does seem to start with a 'J' or has a J initial at least. I can vaguely make out an L (Possibly) just after the J. It was signed where the vase sits on a surface. It is 23cm high and 17cm across the top. I don't know if the term Bristol applies or not to the blue but its a stunning colour and seems to me to be a quality piece. Have taken pics in different lights but still cant match the real thing to the photo. Thanks. Pete

Doesn't strike me as old. I might ask at Bristol Blue Glass http://bristol-glass.co.uk/xcart/home.php

I agree, I don't there is much age to it. Only slight wear to the base but enough to hide what's left of the sig. I will email Bristol Blue, Thanks.

anyone else having problems with the link? It's saying -diagnose connection problems.
However, you can get to it with just bristol-glass.co.uk

That takes you to exactly the same place

however, seems the link is now working :)

Link was ok for me too. I have emailed Bristol Blue. I have looked at a lot of BB and not seen anything similar apart from the colour. Its the clarity and vivid-ness (if that makes sense) of the blue that makes me think Quality. The signature part is really annoying. I have tried flour and photographs with different lights, shades etc but its the majority of the top part missing so very difficult to work out anything else. Most other vases have the back part turned up but this as you can see only the front is turned down.Does anyone have any hints of where else to look while I wait for an answer from BB. Thanks. Pete

Bristol Blue have replied. Very nice of these companies to take the time to answer :) I received the following;
Hello Pete,
Our MD James Adlington (Jim) mentioned he could have made it, or it may have been a gentleman called Jeva, who worked over at the SSGB Dock yard for us quite a few years ago.
Many thanks,
Charlie Bean

I was searching for something else and found this http://retroartglass.com/store/image/2kj0x/Glass_Archives_Grape_glass_carafe_and_cordials.jpg
It has thrown a bit of confusion at the Bristol Blue Attribution and the fact that it could be a carafe which was mentioned by a friend. Hope Im ok posting the link. I dont want to use the picture off the site as that would be wrong. Any Thoughts ??
