Just found this piece in a box that's been in the cupboard for years and I'd forgotten all about it - I'm having a lot of fun rediscovering these pieces!
He measures 6.5" table to tip of beak, 9.5" beak to tail, and weighs a hefty 520g. He seems to be a lighter colour glass cased in a dark blue, and has (I think) inset murrini eyes. Lots of wear to the applied, flattened base, which is reminiscent of the base on a Whitefriars Dilly duck I used to have. He's so distinctive that I'm surprised I can't find another one - not even in the Glass Zoo.

As he's just come out of yet another box (!), I thought I'd have another go at an attribution. Have been to the Murano Zoo and, although I am as sure as I can be that he is definitely Murano, I couldn't find anything in the same shape.
Rethinking whether he's cased, or if he might have a hollow body that just looks lighter in colour. Will have a better look in daylight.
I'm really hoping there are no more birds in any of the remaining boxes......they are so hard to identify without labels or signatures!
Any thoughts welcome.
Thanks
