This little thing measures 3.5" inches long, 2.5" inches tall, and 2" inches wide. What is it? A business card or matchbook holder?
-
For ciggies i think....
-
I had thought that a possibility as well....
Here is a link to a set with a taller piece like this one: http://www.worthpoint.com/worthopedia/deco-daum-france-crystal-cigarette-holder-ashtray
So, I believe this may be for matches.
I'd love to know when it was produced. Smoking items aren't really produced anymore.
-
Maybe toothpicks?
-
the detachable ciggie holder on this item (which STILL has not been identified, come on crew, wake up!) is 3x2" so approximately the same size.
-
I'm still looking for that Ivo :) no luck so far though.

Slightly off topic but has anyone else used the site in the link above ? I had a free trial and searched a few items, it came back with the selling price off ebay !
-
That's mostly all they are Pete

If you look at the larger, taller piece on the Worthpoint site you can see that it is more likely meant to hold cigarettes. Being that each piece is of the same design, I would think this item would have a separate purpose.
-
Maybe it is the antiquated measurements but I see the same size on both items?
-
The Worthpoint one is nearly 3 cm (1.25 in) taller Ivo
-
So it is for King Size ciggies. I have the matching clock btw which is electric but predates quartz and therefore can be dated circa 1960.
-
Why are you using the thread to talk about your clock? I mean, It's fine I guess but it has nothing to do with anything.
-
I think Ivo was suggesting a date for your piece...
-
and for those who are interested in Daum crystal....
-
classy :)

And readable - love it, Ivo.

Ivo, I have to apologize. I was under the impression you were commenting on a clock that matches the amber glass cigarette set (pic) you posted. I wasn't aware you were trying to say that you have a Daum clock. I was very confused....obviously. I'm sorry.

No problem. So circa 1960 it is.
