Title: Czech? Italian? Sommerso Long Neck Vase
Post by: obscurities on July 17, 2012, 03:28:21 PM
I am posting this to help ID for a friend. It stands approx 12 inches tall and has a flat ground and polished base. The piece looks Czech to me, and I am wondering what other opinions may be..... or will I get lucky and someone knows who / what it is.....

TIA  Craig

I know it is not, but the top and shape is very Aseda. The ridging and Sommerso are not right for Aseda, but have you thought Scandinavian?

Any sign it once had a stopper?

No wear in the neck at all, so no stopper.

Interesting piece. I have not seen anything like this before in a sommerso piece with incised sides. Very well made and those colours a fantastic!

I am not sure about it being Scandi though. Czech or Murano would be a better way to go. I think this would be hard to attribute unfortunately at this stage. I will keep my eye out though.
