I think it may be Czech but I am uncertain. The base is ground out to leave a very "Whitefriars" type ring but I cant imagine this is Whitefriars. The protrusions have an almost hooded effect which is also rather unusual.

I am stumped - I am now wondering about Japan. Unfortunately there does not seem to be much information about Japanese makers, which is unfortunate as lots of Japanese glass was sold in Australia. I used to say the simplest way to differentiate Murano from Japanese was th\at the Japanese had zero or very close to zero included bubbles. Not so definite these days.
