Title: Can anyone ID this uranium dancing nymphs / nudes tray?
Post by: rosecottagesales on July 25, 2012, 08:27:52 AM
Hi all

This tray arrived today. To be honest, I don't know what it was, although the seller described it as a Tray made by Sowerby. Anyway, I bought it because I love the design and it glows brightly under the blacklight.

Can anyone here provide me some info on this item please? The pattern is raised on one sides and the back is smooth and polished. Very thick and heavy with a few air bubbles and straw marks present.

Any info is much appreciated.

Thanking you all in advance

Cheers
Brenton

Does it have a raised lip around the edge? If not perhaps it was originally meant to be a plaque, maybe in a bit of furniture, like the back of a washstand or dressing table.

@ Kat...here's another pic

@John...thanks for your comment. It might be a plaque or could it be a lamp shade? I've seen some plaques like this being used / converted into a lamp.

Anyway, its a nice piece and it fits well with my other deco glass :)
