Title: Ashtray
Post by: singingyamada on August 04, 2012, 09:25:44 AM
I aplogise if this occurs twice as I am having issues. This is a boat shaped ashtray thought it is in a sense angled /edged where it would be curved.  The glass has amazing clarity and the base is smooth and clear.  It stands 4cm high, 5cm wide and nine cm long. no markings to the maker.  i was hoping for some ideas. Thanks

This is it upside down.  the lines are so perfect and the clarity , no a flaw.  Its very geometric.  all lines and angles and not a hint of softness about it.

I believe because of the sharpness of it /the edges and the smooth finish  that its cut.

I was wondering Moser, just a little bit.
I don't know much about Moser - just that it screams monumental-ness and quality, and this does.

There is a Val St Lambert one here with label which looks similar, different size though.

And an entirely different technique. The vsl is cut crystal, not pressed. These barely have a nodding relationship...

Yes, I was referring to the blue one, i. e. the original question. I would not randomly link something that referred to something else half way down the thread without stating so. Your attitude is condescending to say the least.

sorry I was under the misapprehension that you were interested in the maker of your blue ashtray. Have you figured it out yet?

If you are addressing me Ivo, it is NOT my ashtray, I was attempting to help the owner/thread starter.

I have 6 pieces in a similar colour and cut that are Moser beryl - does it glow under UV? I have two older ones that glow brightly, but the later ones don't.
