...it has a rough pontil.
Not obvious from picture but there are controlled bubbles within the glass.
Any thoughts on maker?
-
And the base...
-
Empoli verde, nice example. Maker would be Toso Bagnoli or Vetreria Empoli - there are several other companies. The ground and polished! pontil is just right.

Thanks for this Ivo - much appreciated.
-
correction i meant vetreria etrusca not empoli.

Ok. Cool. Thanks for clarifying!

I posted much the same question a while back (2008) and got the same answer from Ivo - consistent and accurate as usual. Here's what mine looked like -

Good to know. Thanks for posting. How tall is your piece out of interest?
-
Got one in amber, should have a large pointed stopper ;D
-
I think mine is in a box somewhere in my garage right now - preparing to move house, but from my post of 4 years ago I wrote that it was 18" tall and 5.5" wide.
Interesting what you say about a stopper Keith. I hadn't noticed any sign of a stopper mark on the rim of mine - I must look again when I've moved and unpacked, likely to be months down the line I suspect.

Mine is 17 inches minus the stopper which just sits in the neck, not really a snug fit ::)
