Pink splotches on clear glass, 6" 15cm, the bottom has been leveled - perhaps it turned out wonky. Rim polished to good standard. As this one came from Aberdeen i wondered about Scottishness...
-
I'm no expert -
It has the shape of a Caithness vase (the shape may be called Flair?).
But there are copies out there. I have seen vases the size and shape of Caithness, even with the mark etched on the base, but the quality and finish is nothing like. I think some have been knocked out in the far east.

Something's not quite right for Caithness.
-
That finish reminds me of Teign Valley Glass. Sometimes marked with a very minute TVG or sometimes not at all.

Also could this perhaps be another Hartley Wood 1980's giftware vase?

I saw a piece with a very similar texture/colouration this morning. It certainly wasn't Caithness.
-
Thank yous - it confirms what I suspected
-
Heron glass maybe? ;D
-
I'll go with that Keith.
Ivo is it a kind of watery ish iridescence on the surface?
I had a pale pink posy vase with that finish. I'll try and dig out a pic for comparison.
