I've written to the seller of this paperweight and informed him that it is Chinese, but he has insisted that it is a genuine Clichy. He states "I have done a fair amount of research on this weight before coming to my conclusion. I have a collection five 1930s Chinese millefiori paperweights which I've bought over the last ten years."

So, maybe the experts can offer their opinions.

Even I can tell it's not Clichy!
Notaclu what it is though, beyond nothing very special. ;D

It's a Cliche, as in not sure what it is so label it Clichy and hope :)

Looks Chinese to me, too, Allan. I don't recall seeing a facetted one like this, but those are very Chinese canes.

Thanks Alan.
I have a faceted example in my collection. Faceting makes them look a lot better. I've heard that some glass cutters practice on Chinese weights.

I was about to ask the question about this item but I see it has already started.
Its chinese!!!!!!!!!! but its one of the best I have ever seen.
Regards Roger.
