I'm sure that we've had these, or something very like on the board before, but I can't find it, and it was a few years ago...

Very nice lamp shades indeed!  I too share concerns regarding their origin.  I don't think Stuart and Sons made these as they were one of the three big glassworks and the quality of pieces produced are to a higher standard.  Neither do I think they were made by Murano as listed on Ebay http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/PAIR-TWO-2-MURANO-LIGHT-LAMP-SHADES-RETRO-80S-AMBER-TEARDROP-S-/261102061030?pt=UK_Lampshades&hash=item3ccae545e6.  However I must say, If I had seen these at a reasonable price, I would have been very tempted! ;D.

I've looked on various sites, but unable to find any information on the designer of these shades.  Hopefully one of the experts in this subject matter will be able to assist you.  Good luck!  ;D

They must have been sold in the last 10-30 years by one of the big retailers, as they are very common at boot sales, etc.

Try Gordiola or go to Pollensa you will find them in several of the older Hotels . I believe one of our big stores retailed them possibly Army & Navy .

I think similar things were probably made by different companies: >> Link (http://www.ebay.at/itm/Lampenschirm-Glas-Oberglas-Austria-70er-Spaceage-Design-/150617923700?pt=Mobiliar_Interieur&hash=item2311872074) to one with an Oberglas label
