Another fleamarket find: Salviati object / paperweight, colourless glass with red, blue and emerald green suspended blobs.
Shaped like a small piece of rock, 10 cm wide, 6 cm high. Base ground and polished, with big circular pontil mark.
Engraved "Salviati" mark.
Can anybody add a little information (designer, date)?
In my books I didn't find much; Leslie Jackson states that engraved marks are post WW2, according to Heiremans they were used from the 1970s onwards.
I found an interesting thread here on the board refering to a piece (probably) similar as 'Sasso Policromo' >> Link (http://www.glassmessages.com/index.php/topic,3880.0.html)
Unfortunately all pics gone :(
Colours do look similar to many Gaspari pieces, but this may just be wishful thinking ;D
Thanks!

Oh, it is signed? Good for you!!
Kinda just a lump or what shape is it? Good Wear on the bottom too!!

Thank you, Rose!
Yes, just a lump of glass (though my sister thought it looked like a hedgehog :) )
Unfortunately I couldn't find anything similar so far, apart from the old thread I linked to.
It is a really nice and interesting piece...

I know this thread is oldish, but Micheal, I just wanted to say that this paperweight is really cool. So much character!
