Come on John the postage was free!!! ;D ;D
Seriously though, as you say some trusting soul has bought without knowing a thing about Whitefriars penguins and parted with a lot of money for a Whitefriars box. I have a couple of Whitefriars boxes,... ..........now I wonder................No I couldn't possibly!
-
More money than sense................ ;)
-
Private bidder... so will we ever know who bought it?
Perhaps she/he can return it as 'Not as described'?
-
Boyo do i have a red face but not as red as my mate who purchased it . No i wont tell on him . :-[ i really didnt know honest . ;D ;D ;D :D

Hi John,
I do not have a red face, just amused by the whole thing.................. I thought from the image that the wings looked 'applied' rather than pulled as in a Wedgwood penguin. With that in mind I thought I would chance my luck but as it turns out the base is clearly acid etched WEDGWOOD. ENGLAND.
Apparently he had been emailed by at least two collectors telling him that it was Wedgwood.
I will probably keep it but only after a hefty refund !
Regards,
Patrick. :) :) :)
