Title: Trinket set pieces with shield-shaped, podium-topped detail – Mystery Set #121
Post by: agincourt17 on September 26, 2012, 11:34:42 AM
Lidded amber pressed-glass trinket pot.  The lid has a flattened spade- or shield-shaped finial with a stepped- or podium-shaped top (rather like that on the Walther ‘Hubertus’ pot lids). The top of the lid has a series of concentric rings above radial ridges, and the ridges extend vertically down the pot sides (quite different to the Hubertus pots in the 1935 musterbuch).

Ringholder has sides with matching vertical ridges.

Candlesticks have a body shaped like the shield-shaped pot finial, and the base has concentric rings above vertical ridges to match the pot lid.

Candlesticks also in green glass.

IDs, comments or suggestions, please?

(Permission for re-use of the images of the amber pieces on the GMB granted by shaunandgromitresideshere, and the green candlesticks by torill01)

I see that Pamela has the lidded pot (in pink) as one of her 'unknowns':

Anne... here is the photo of the trinket set I believe to be by Reich...the vases certainly are catalogued...unfortunately the tray was broken in transit  :'( as you can see it glows beautifully under UV

There are some more examples of pieces to this pattern shown on the GTS site shown as Mystery #121 at
http://www.glasstrinketsets.com/Gallery/thumbnails.php?album=126

A blue glass version (including the tray) is shown, along with pieces in green and amber.

A putative Reich ID is interesting, Angela.

Fred.

Further to our discussion on the Reich set I have now obtained another part set to replace my lost tray I was surprised to find that when I got this other set the candlesticks were taller than my original ones .....another pointer to Reich who have done this with other trinket sets?     Feel free to use any image Anne.  :)

Thank you Angela, I've not had much time to do more on GTS for a while but I'll add copies as soon as I can. :)  I love this set!

HELP!  I've had one of these before but can't remember what it is ::)
I've spent ages looking through all available sources, including my copy of Sklo Union Art Before Industry...  which is where I originally thought I might find it, but
I've gone totally trinket set blind :-X
TIA ;)

Reich we think, Anne... but hunting for catalogue evidence to support that.

Thanks Eugénie, those are lovely!

I noticed Simba believes this is a Reich set, I can see why, but must point out I seem to recall some murmurings that it was possibly by Hortensja at one point?
