I have a tri corner amber and white splatter glass bowl and would like to know who the maker is. It measures 17cm x 5cm high and weighs 397grams. The underside has a very rough circular pontil mark (?)
Can anyone help please?

Hello,I have two that shape and a large 'bowl' only in a darker colour,if I remember right there was no positive id,I'll try and find my original post, ;D ;D

Hi Keith,
Thank you for the message. If you find out that your bowls were identified and attributed I would be grateful if you could let me know. In the meantime ,I'll keep searching. Would you descrribe them as 'spatter glass'?

I think mine is the same.
It has a generic 'foreign' label that someone may be able to attribute - to country at least ???
very rough and ready finish.... huge lumps of broken white glass rolled into the body
but I quite like it :)
cheers

Hi bfg,
Yes your bowl is almost identical!! Thank you so much for that. Isn't the underside unusual? Very chunky and course but I think it adds to the interest and must make it easier to identify. Now maybe someone else will be able to attribute the bowls to a country of origin if not maker.

"Foreign" often denotes post-war (1950-1960s) production from Japan or Germany.

Thank you. That gives me a lead-It's like a treasure hunt. Very addictive so am spending way too much time on the computer searching when I have million of things to be doing!!
