Title: Caithness fire Paperweight? Confirmation Required.
Post by: Otis Orlando on October 11, 2012, 01:55:25 PM
Hi all,  Another fantastic find today that I would like confirming and  to share with you! Information soley based upon details as shown in picures.  Ashame I have not got the complete set, which consist of four: fire, water, earth and air.  CT Colin Terris, the designer and  PH Peter Holmes the chief paperweight maker.  Only a thousand were made of this pattern design.  Approx. 7cm dia.  Flat polished base 4.7cm dia.   Height 5.6cm.  Period 1970's.   I am interested to know how the pattern was made and materials used, if anyone knows?  The pattern colour on the outer edge and base is amethyst.  This beautiful paperweight is in it's original box too!  Most paperweights I have acquired don't have their original box.  I just can't understand why people would want to get rid of them.  The boxes used for Caithness paperweights are of excellent quality.
