Title: Czech maybe?
Post by: chriscooper on October 27, 2012, 06:40:19 PM
Bought this in the dark this morning thought it looked quite old but in the cold light of day maybe it could be Chinese?
The glass is more of a grey tint.

??

I am not sure Chris......is the bottom polishes?  As the pic of the bottom is not really scuffed, it is just where the *white* is inside that makes it look like that on the bottom?

Can we have another pic of the bottom with a slight angle??

Not that that would help me......LOL.... ;D

I think modern Czech is a strong possibility.

Hi Rose, the base is highly polished the 'centre' is just a rough circle with the snapped of pontil mark which 'appeared' to be wear in the early morning gloom.
Think you are correct Alan, no sign of any age on the base.
Ian I bought it along with to two Selkirk weights at the last carboot of the season at York race course on Saturday morning and it was still dark.
